Silt Warrant Checks
The Silt Municipal Court page names bench warrants among its cases but offers no public name search. So call the clerk at 970-876-7976 or email sheila@townofsilt.org. Have the legal name ready, plus date of birth, ticket number, and the date of the missed or unpaid event.
- Read the ticket and identify the court and obligation.
- Contact the Silt clerk for a town case.
- Ask whether a bench warrant is active and what the judge requires.
- Use Garfield County Court for a state traffic or misdemeanor file.
- After payment or appearance, confirm that a recall or other status was entered.
Silt Police handle service and reports, while the municipal judge and clerk control what happens to a city-court warrant order.
Silt Court Names Bench Warrants
Most town court pages talk about tickets and never say the word warrant. Silt does. Its official page says the court hears misdemeanors, bench warrants, and summons or penalty assessments. That makes Municipal Court the clear first stop for a Silt city case, though not every unpaid ticket carries a warrant.
Quick answer: Call 970-876-7976 and ask for the case, active warrant status, required court act, and the date any recall will be entered.
A bench warrant is a judge's order, usually after a failure to appear or comply. Colorado materials also say failure-to-appear warrant. Capias pro fine is not the term Silt uses.

Silt Has Four Payment Routes
Silt accepts eligible penalty assessments four ways. Pay in person, by phone with a card, by mail, or through the Town Hall night depository. Mail goes to Town of Silt, Attn: Court, P.O. Box 70, with the ticket number inside. The night drop works around the clock.
| Route | Use | Warrant limit |
|---|---|---|
| In person | Eligible penalty assessment | Ask the clerk whether recall is separate |
| Phone card | Approved card payment | Payment confirmation is not court recall |
| Ticket-number payment | Allow time to post, then verify status | |
| Night depository | After-hours drop | Not a warrant-clearance counter |
Before paying late, ask Silt whether the assessment is still payable or a judge appearance is now required.
Warrants in Silt: Main Types
The Silt Municipal Court caseload sketches the local warrant picture. A bench warrant can follow a missed summons, nonpayment, or failure to comply. County Court handles state traffic and misdemeanor warrants. A new alleged offense brings an arrest warrant, which needs a judicial probable-cause finding. A search warrant targets evidence and is not a public person lookup.
| Type | How it arises | First court |
|---|---|---|
| Silt bench warrant | Missed municipal event or unmet term | Silt Municipal Court |
| County FTA warrant | Missed state traffic or misdemeanor setting | Garfield County Court |
| Arrest warrant | Probable-cause order for an alleged offense | Authorized court |
| Search warrant | Probable-cause order for described evidence | Judge or magistrate |
The issuing court determines the valid path to recall, bond, or the next setting.
Silt Night Drop Is Not Recall
The night depository is handy for a payment the court still accepts. It offers no clerk, no status check, and no judge's recall order. Anyone with a possible warrant should first ask whether the ticket can still be paid and what must accompany the payment. After the payment posts, press for a clear answer. Paid describes the balance; recalled means the court withdrew the warrant. The two events may take separate action. Keep a copy of the payment and any court order. Then verify when Silt Police receives the new status.
Do not assume clearance. A receipt proves payment, while the municipal court record proves whether the Silt bench warrant was recalled.
Silt Warrant Records: What They Show
Silt posts no warrant-results screen, so ask the clerk for a field-by-field answer. The record may hold a citation or case number, warrant type, issue date, reason, issuing judge, bond or appearance requirement, status, and new court date. A state case can follow a year and class pattern such as 2026CR####. That sample is not a Silt city format.
| Ticket or case number | Locates the municipal file. |
|---|---|
| Warrant type and reason | Identifies bench, FTA, noncompliance, or another basis. |
| Issuing court | Shows which judge controls the order. |
| Status | Active, served, returned, recalled, quashed, or cleared. |
| Bond or payment | The exact financial or release term, if set. |
| Next court date | The required setting after a reset or release. |
Do not guess at a warrant number format; the Silt clerk gives the identifier that counts.
Silt Police Records Form
The March 2025 Silt Police request form asks for request and incident identifiers, name and date of birth, identification, address, contact details, event facts, delivery preference, signature, and public-use certification. Checkboxes cover a records check, case report, and accident report. Send requests through the official route, including hope@townofsilt.org where directed. Fees on the form are set. A case report runs $15, an accident report $10, and a records check $15. Copies cost $0.25 per page. Research past the first hour is $33 per hour. Digital evidence costs $30 on USB or $20 by email. Those are police-record fees, not bond or recall charges. A Silt warrant order itself still belongs with the court.
Silt Police Coverage and Records
The official Silt Police page documents the department's 24/7 coverage and public contact information.

Round-the-clock police coverage does not mean the records window or municipal clerk is open at all hours. Use police for law-enforcement needs, the records custodian for releasable reports, and the court clerk for current warrant status. If a caller demands immediate payment to avoid arrest, stop. Garfield County Sheriff's scam warning says the agency will not call to demand money for a warrant or fine. Always verify through published agency numbers.
Resolve a Silt Bench Warrant
Call first. Before paying, using the night drop, or appearing, phone the Silt court and ask what the judge allows: payment, a reset, a scheduled appearance, a recall motion, bond, or surrender. The town posts no Silt recall packet. Staff can explain the mechanics, though a lawyer can weigh legal choices and arrest risk.
- Confirm the case number and active warrant.
- Ask whether payment remains an option.
- Obtain the exact appearance, filing, or bond instruction.
- Keep every receipt, order, and new date.
- Verify that the status changed in both court and serving-agency records.
Clearing the warrant does not close the Silt case, since a new date or other court duty may still remain.
Silt Court Source and Case Scope
The town's official court source lays out Silt's bench-warrant jurisdiction and payment options. It offers no live warrant roster.

The page's case labels give callers the right vocabulary: misdemeanor, bench warrant, summons, penalty assessment. Use those exact words when you call. Quote the paper in front of you. If it names Garfield County Court rather than Silt Municipal Court, take the state court route. Note: Silt publishes no city warrant roster, warrant search fields, update schedule, amnesty program, or separate clearance application.
Silt Warrants and Garfield County
A Silt warrant starts with the municipal judge and clerk. Silt Police serve it. An arrest can lead to the Garfield County Jail. GCSO handles custody and authorized bond transactions, while the issuing judge controls recall, and state-law cases run through the Garfield courts. Colorado posts no public statewide active-warrant portal; the Garfield County warrant records overview covers the wider route.
Warrant flow: Silt Municipal Court / Police › Garfield County Sheriff / Jail › issuing court status confirmation
A sheriff record skips some municipal files, so confirm any Silt-only matter with the Silt clerk.
Accessing Silt Warrant Records
Colorado law opens many criminal justice records to the public. Silt must review each request, and release may be denied when law, court order, or the public interest bars it. Unserved process and affidavits may be withheld. Juvenile information gets added protection, and Silt's records form asks for identity and public-use details too.
Key rules:
Colorado Criminal Justice Records Act, C.R.S. §§ 24-72-301 et seq. governs police-record inspection and custodian limits.
C.R.S. § 16-3-108 requires sworn probable-cause facts for an arrest warrant.
C.R.S. § 19-1-304 restricts juvenile court and probation records.
Request only your own known matter, then verify current status with the Silt Municipal Court.
Verify a Silt Warrant Change
Put every step of a Silt warrant check on paper. Keep the ticket, note its number and due date, and log each call to the clerk. For a Silt municipal matter, ask for the exact bench-warrant status and the judge-ordered step. State charge? Use Garfield County Court. Police records may document the event, but the Silt Municipal Court supplies the order and the recall. A shared Town Hall address does not change that split. Every public tool has a limit, since the state docket shows hearings, not every active warrant. The current-inmate tool shows custody, not all unserved process. The Silt night depository takes payments but answers no questions and issues no order. The GCSO local check excludes municipal records. Sealed, juvenile, new, and city-only matters may be missing too. A blank screen or receipt settles nothing in Silt court. After money posts or an appearance happens, ask the Silt clerk for the status term and its entry date. Save any order recalling or quashing the warrant. Ask when Silt Police see the change. Keep any new court setting as well. Payment, bond, or recall can settle the warrant without ending the original misdemeanor, summons, or penalty-assessment case in Silt. Miss that step and the cycle restarts. If arrest seems possible, get legal advice before choosing an appearance or surrender route in Silt.
